Question:
My mother has my kesuvah. She told me where it is. Do i have to physically see it or can I trust its there? Do I have to know the exact location or can I know the general vicinity (i.e. in a filing cabinet with other important documents). Can a picture of it sent to my phone count like an original document if needed be?
Answer:
Hello,
The idea of knowing where the kesuba is, is just that if chas veshalom, it is needed, that it can be accessed. If your mother says it is by her and she knows where it is, that is enough and you don’t have to know anything more than that.
Best wishes
