Question:
Hello.
A Ba'al Korei, Gabbai, etc... opens the Aron Kodesh on Friday and points to a certain Sefer Torah and declares it to be the one to be read on Shabbos morning. Does that make all the other Sifrei Torahs muktzeh? Thank you.
Answer:
Hello,
Sefarim including Sifrei torah are categorically never muktza, as we are never separating ourselves from them. the same applies to edible food and clothing. As a side point, what will happen if the sefer that they want to use is found to have a problem with one of the letters? They will take a different sefer and use it, because it never became muktza.
Best wishes
