Question:
Lets say that after a Shabbos meal has concluded, there are pieces of leftover challah that remain on the table. One is not sure though whether or not they are a kezayis (e.g they look like they are close to a kezayis, but might be somewhat smaller than a kezayis). If they would be less than a kezayis they would be muktzah and one could dispose of them in an indirect way into the garbage. But if they would be a kezayis then they wouldn't be muktzah and one would be able to handle them directly, and would have to dispose of them in a respectable way. So as such, how should one proceed if he wants the pieces removed from the table, but doesn't know if they should be treated as a kezayis or less than a kezayis?
Answer:
Hello,
Without getting into any halachic discussion, if you aren't sure, you can do both. Sweep up those pieces with a napkin, as you will do for the other muktza crumbs, and instead of putting them straight into the garbage, put them into a bag and then into the garbage.
Best wishes
