Renting Out Gown

Question:

Last year, we had my brother’s wedding, and the kids wore gowns that cost 350 NIS, but we managed to get them on sale for around 300 NIS or less. To help cover some expenses, my husband suggested I rent them out. I agreed with my sister-in-law, who also rented out her kids' gowns, that 20 GBP (roughly 90 NIS) would be a fair rental price. I've rented it out a few times, and naturally, there has been some wear and tear.
Recently, someone asked to rent the gown, and I informed them that the price is 20 GBP. When her sister came to pick it up, I told her that I had just noticed two holes in the arm of the gown's netting. After the woman received it, she informed me that she found another hole. She seemed fine with it and asked me if she could make some alterations, which I didn’t mind. She didn’t ask for a discount, but I’m wondering what would be fair to charge her, considering the holes and that it no longer looks brand new, even though the gown is still in good condition overall. This would be the third or fourth time renting it out.

Answer:

Hello,

If she didn’t complain, then you are not obligated to give her a discount, as she did see the holes beforehand, and didn’t argue with the price. If you would like to, that is your decision.

Best wishes
