Question:

Hello
At my job they put a new manager in charge of me, and for a reason I don't know he decided that I don't have the skills for my position is (he never saw me working). I was asked by him to talk to someone who works in the same position in order to become more efficient, after one conversation with the person that he asked me to talk to, that person tried to be my friend and tried to convince me that he can help me improve without anyone knowing, but after a few times that he called me and talks to me like a friend, I find out that my manager pay him money to do this, I felt very offended, they both tricked me,
My question is, according to the Halacha, were they allowed to do such a thing?

Answer:

Hello,

It is uncomfortable to find out that they were talking behind your back, but on the other hand they were doing it for your benefit. From what you are writing, it sounds like they are not against you. For whatever reason they feel that they can help you make things more efficient, and you only have what to gain from this.

As a side point, it is always wiser to take the friendly approach. If this person has suggestions to give you, be open minded about it, because it will put you in a better position in the eyes of your new manager, and the other workers. Additionally, it is also possible that some of the suggestions will be helpful to you. Taking the fighting approach, even if you are right may not be in your best interest. Therefore I would say, "go with the flow", and IY"H things will work out good for you.

Best wishes
