Question:
Many years ago I learned in the Mir Yeshiva in Yerushalayim, and there were many stories about the Rosh Yeshivah Rav Beinish Finkel z"l who was still alive.
One of those stories, was that he had a chumrah in rivis, where he would go everyday to the bank to withdraw and redeposit the money of the Mir Yeshivah.
However, I never heard any explanation about this custom of his.
Would you know what chumrah this is in halacha, and why he would have done this?
Answer:
Hello,
This is the first that I hear of this. A reason that he might have done this, might be because if the money is not in the bank for more than a day straight, it will not accumulate interest, but this is only a guess.
Best wishes
