You are asking an interesting question. The Gemora ( Megillah 13a) says, that Moshe had 6 different names, however the Torah chose to call him the name that Basya named him. Therefore, it is very possible that his parents did give him a name when he was 8 days old, the Torah however doesn’t mention it because it isn’t that important for us to know.
