Hi, I have a question about playing poker tournaments. Is it halachically allowed to play poker tournaments? Tournaments, essentially have a fee to enter and once you’re in the tournament the gambling takes place with chips that don't have any monetary value.

From what you are describing there is no betting involved. Therefore it is just a game, which aside from being a waste of time, when one could be doing better things, it would be allowed.
