Question:
A book written by a Rabbi, not as a Torah book but does contain quotes from the bible and Talmud. Would such a book be prohibited to bring into the bathroom?

It is preferred[1] not to take such a book into the bathroom, however if it was taken into the bathroom, make[2] sure that the book is not open to those pages, and the other pages of the book will then serve as a covering for the torah quotes, that it contains.
