It is permitted to ask Hashem for hatzlocha in what you are learning, being that it is a tefillah for ruchnius. In fact, we are to do it each time we sit down to learn. We say the tefillah of R’ Necuchya ben Hakona, that Hashem should open our eyes and we should understand what we are learning.
