Question:
We have a small minyan that davens by the netz. this shul has a minhag that a avel does not daven for the amud on Rosh Chodesh. the avel insists he wants to daven for the amud. Is it worth to fight with the avel or just let him daven for the amud?
Answer:
Hello,
There are different minhagim if the avel can daven, until Hallel on Rosh Chodesh, or that he doesn't daven for the amud at all. He can be gently told that it isn't a zechus for the neshoma for him to fight and go against the minhagim of the shul. But if he still insists, I don't think the gabbai should make a fight out of it.
Best wishes
