Question:
Can I light a yohtziet candle on a loved ones birthday to remember them
Answer:
Hello,
Technically there isn't any problem doing so, if it makes you feel good. It isn't much of a help for the departed persons soul, as the persons birthday, doesn't have that much significance, especially after the person's soul has already departed this world. But if it makes you feel good to do it for yourself, I don't see any halachic issue with doing it.
Best wishes
