If someone gets an aura (a visual disturbance that essentially warns the person that a migraine is on its way), and that aura is sometimes followed by a migraine (pain in the head) and sometimes not, can the person take a painkiller on Shabbos as soon as they get that aura but before they start to suffer any pain? ie would this constitute preventative or not? This would be considered preventive. When a person feels that he/she is going to get a headache soon, such as when getting an aura, if the person does get migraines he may take something for it. See sources.
