Squeezing on Shabbos

Question:

A practical question,

  1. If I accidentally spill water on my clothing, is it a problem to continue wearing them?
  2. If, I walk on them, is that considered squeezing?
  3. Similarly, sometimes my toddlers clothing gets wet, and I need to do up buttons or zip or unzip the baby's clothing. Is that a problem, to do those actions which might inadvertently squeeze wet clothing?

Thank you

Answer:

Hello,

  1. Clothing that a person is wearing that got wet, may[1] be worn, without any fear that one might come to squeeze them out.
  2. If one’s socks got wet, or if a carpet got wet, one may[2] continue walking with them and need not be concerned that the water inside then will be squeezed.
  3. The same would apply to your toddlers clothing getting wet, you may unzip them etc.

Best wishes
