Yom kippur katan

Question:

Hello Rabbi,
I know you said women generally do not fast Yom Kippur Katan. If not fasting, may one eat preferred foods or should one at least eat less (amount) and less desirable food? So, if YKK is Friday, is it permissable to eat food one really enjoys on Thursday night?

Thank you

Answer:

Hello,

Yom Kippur katan is meant to be a minor day of teshuva. You may eat preferred foods.  However if eating less desirable foods will be channeled, with the intention of doing teshuva, and to getting closer to Hashem, then it is a nice idea.

Even for those who do fast, it is only from the morning, and not at night.

Best wishes
