Hi,
Can you please clarify for me according to halacha, how long does one say kaddish for a: wife, brother, married sister? It doesn't seem to be discussed in any of the English halacha seforim I have.

Hello,
There is no specific obligation to say kaddish for wife, brother or married sister, as it is an obligation specifically[1] on children for a parent. If there aren’t any children who can say kaddish for them, then it is a big chesed to say kaddish for them, however if there is a person who is a real “chiyuv”, then the other person has precedence, (in places that only allow one person to say kaddish). If that place[2] has a specific minhag to give some of the kaddeishim to relatives of a niftar, ( who doesn’t have a son to say kaddish, then everything goes according to their minhag).
If possible kaddish should be said, for the full 11 months. If the relatives can’t say kaddish it is a big chesed for them to at least hire someone else to say the kaddish.
