Rosh Chodesh Elul this year (5785- 2025) is on Sunday- Monday August 24-25, and Yom Kippur Katan is on the previous Thursday.

We only make kiddush on Shabbos or Yom Tov. This year Rosh Chodesh Elul is on a weekday, so we don’t make kiddush then.
