Question:
Thank you so much for this beautiful service that you provide.
Here is my question.
I am an earth science teacher. I want to download and show educational videos to better teach my classes, but I'm sure that many have pictures and videos of the sun and moon and celestial objects. Can this be permitted.
Thank you
Answer:
Hello,
Without getting into any issues of copyrights on the video, as far as the issue of not making images of celestial bodies. It is not considered making a picture, or drawing a picture of celestial bodies, because the downloaded picture is digital. Meaning that the picture doesn’t exist, rather it is code that makes the picture, which really doesn’t exist in the form of a picture. The same would apply to when the video is shown on a screen.
