My baby's earring fell out on Shabbos. When I tried to put it back in, it felt like the hole closed a bit and I would be breaking the skin. Would I have been allowed to put it all the way through? Thank you!

As long as it isn’t close enough, that putting the earing back will cause bleeding, it should be alright. Even if it pieces the skin, as long as it doesn’t make it bleed, it is not a melacha.
