Question:
Hi, I’m active in a NYC group of community leaders in our neighborhood. At one of the meetings people wanted to recite a prayer called the Lord’s Prayer, it’s supposedly nondenominational as it doesn’t mention jc or anything like that. Is a Jew allowed to say it, or do we stay quiet or maybe even walk out? It seems to have its origin in xtianity but again, it doesn’t mention their guy straight out so I thought it might be mutar.
Answer:
Hello,
You don’t have to walk out, but you shouldn’t say it together with them, as it seems to have origins in other religions.
Best wishes
