Extending raffle campaign

Question:

Hi,
Is it gezel for a raffle campaign to extend its deadline because it is lowering the chances for the people who already bought tickets?
Thank you!

Answer:

Hello,

It depends on how the raffle is set up. If they designated a set amount of tickets, lets say 1000, and now they are adding to it, then what you are saying is correct, and they are now minimizing your chances of winning. However if there is an open-ended amount of tickets, although it is true that now they can sell more tickets, but it is commonly done. To the degree that people understand that a raffle is almost never on time, in order to sell more tickets. Therefore it is understood by the purchasers, that the organization will do this, and as if they agreed to it.

Best wishes
