Question:
I learn in a kollel in america, when i go in the morning i run if i am running late or to get ther on time. My friend challenged from the rambam in hilchos deios perek hei that a talmid chacham cant run in the street. I was wondering if he has a point, also can one run to shul in reshus harabim as this is meshuneh thank you
Answer:
Hello,
The Shulchan Aruch says that it is permitted, especially to Shacharis, when you have your tallis and tefillin, that it is evident where you are running. As a side point, in our society nowadays it isn’t meshuneh to run, everyone does it for health, to look good, to catch a bus or a train. So why is it so terrible to run to Hashem’s house?
Best wishes
