Yin Yang symbol

Question:

Somebody gifted a family member a piece of jewelry that has the "Yin Yang" symbol prominently displayed on it.
Though it seems to be a popular symbol in design, my limited research reveals that it has its source in Chinese Taoism and symbolizes interdependence of opposing forces in the natural world. This idea sounds fine when you believe that both light and dark were created by The One Creator. It sounds like avodo zoro for those that don't.
Is there a problem using this symbol for jewelry, or any other purpose? If so, can the item be re-gifted or sold, or must it be thrown out?

Answer:

Hello,

Most people view this symbol as something meaningless, and do not associate it with avoda zara. Therefore you would be able to wear it. If you are uncomfortable with this, you can surely sell it.

Best wishes
