Question:
Does a modern electric utensil (such as a toaster) with electronic elements require tevila. I used to toivel such things and let them dry for a few days (as described on this site). However I understand that newer utensils that include electronic (circuit board/computer) can be ruined if toiveled. What do you advise (in case it matters, I am Ashkenazi haredi/American living in Israel)?

This is a difficult situation. There are two options. The first would be to take it to someone who can “break it” in a way that it needs to be professionally fixed, and then a Jew should fix it. This way the Jew who fixed it is the one who now “made the appliance, and it wouldn’t need tevila. If you need to know someone who can do this in Yerushalayim let me know. There is another option, to give the appliance to a gentile, and then to borrow it from him long term.
