Asher Yatzar

Question:

If I use the bathroom, and then still feel like I need to use it again but nothing comes out, should I say Asher Yatzar?

Answer:

Hello,

Being that you still feel the need to use the bathroom, this means that you have still[1] not finished using the bathroom, even though nothing comes out. Therefore, you would not[2] say Asher Yatzar until you have finished. This is different than a situation when a person took an enema, and used the bathroom, and knows that it will soon be needed again. In that case, the bracha would be said, since right now the person feels no need to use the bathroom. However, in your situation, you have still not finished what your body now feels it needs, therefore you would not say the bracha until you feel that you don’t need the bathroom anymore.

Best wishes
