I understand that many, such as Rav Schachter, are meikel when it comes to checking mezuzot twice every 7 years. At least for indoor ones
When one moves mezuzot from one house to another, do they continue to fall under this same rubric? Or is there a special need to check them at this point, as a din/chok that falls outside of the practical consideration set of the twice in 7 years checking, wish itself does not necessarily need to be done at that frequency?
Answer:
The mezuzos should then be inspected, since moving a mezuzah can cause damage. Additionally, we do not assume the mezuzah maintains its previous status when installed in a new location. Refer to the sources for more details.
