I am researching my family, and the researchers I have found point to the website of Latter-day Saints (Mormons). They collect, digitize, and microfilm records from around the world. They do this because they believe they baptize dead people, or something like that. Although when I have asked other Jewish people who use this website, they said they don’t know if they still do that anymore. Either way, am I allowed to go to their website to search for family, or is it not the right thing to do both halachikly and hashkafikally?

It depends on what the site contains. If it contains only ancestry information, then it is okay. However, if it also includes content that teaches people or tries to convince them to join their avoda zara, then stay away from it.

they use the names to posthumously baptise them. so if i enter a name of a relative that died, they may posthumously baptise them. even though they say they only do it to their members i have read alot on Jewishgen.org that shows they still do it. can their doing this really do anything to a yiddishe meis? what should i do if i already researched one of my grandparents on this site??
You do not have to do anything if you have already registered on the site, because to us this is total nonsense. For that price, can they now baptize everyone who has lived for the last 5786 years?
Nevertheless, if they are using those names for their purposes, and not just as a public service, I would stay away from it.
