By the seder, we had a question. The kiddush spilled out with nothing left. I'm assuming the kiddush was chal, but do I need a new hagefen because on the one hand, there was wine on the table; however, I don't drink between the kosos, so there's no daas for more. What should we really have done? Thank you

“Shelas chochom chatzi teshuva”. The chashash that you have is correct. The Ashkenazi minhag, as you write, is not to drink between the first and second kos. Therefore, if the person making kiddush didn’t stipulate that if there is a need, he will drink between the kosos, then he would have to say hagofen when he drinks the new cup of wine.
