- I need to go to the mikva motzei Shabbos. Can I do my nails a day before on Friday?
- Also, are my nails allowed to be longer than my fingers for beauty?

- You can cut them on erev Shabbos, and you don’t have to wait until motzei Shabbos.
- You really should cut your nails before going to the mikva, so they should be short. This is the minhag for halachic and kabbalistic reasons. Nowadays it is fashionable to have long nails; nevertheless, they should be cut. True, you will be giving up a little bit of your beauty, but instead, IY”H Hashem will give you beautiful children, in the zechus of your keeping the halacha properly and not looking for heteirim.
