You are correct. It is embarrassing for you to tell the person and to comment on the smell they caused. Just keep quiet. Don’t talk to Hashem or to your friend until the smell dissipates, and then continue. Alternatively, you can walk away for a few seconds until the smell dissipates.

So What if the person asks you why you’re not davening, saying a ברכה, etc or another question, or if you’re in the car and there’s nowhere else to go, etc?
You'll have to figure it out on the spot.
You can also make beleive you are davening, in order not to embarrass anyone.
Especially if it’s a parent? How do you not answer a parent?
You're in middle of davening! You're going to make motions to them in any case, so make believe you were just spacing out.
