Coupon error

Question:

I received a Walmart promotional coupon code for $10, but had an issue when trying to use it. I contacted Walmart and received a new one because the other one didn't apply. However, when I tried it again some time later, I found that it now applied, so I now have two $10 codes. One was sent to replace the other, which I mistakenly thought was in error. Am I now allowed to use them both, or is it considered stealing since I only received the second to replace the first?

Answer:

Hello,

You should only use one of the promotions. When you apply a promotion that you are not entitled to use, you are essentially fooling the store into thinking you have a legitimate promotion code. This is different from when Amazon sends you a second item mistakenly, since then you already have the item, and it is a matter of returning it, which you aren’t obligated to do. In contrast, here you have to take an action to activate and use the code, and since it isn’t, it is considered fooling them.

Best wishes
