Temporary Mezuzah

What’s pashut in the shach in YD Siman 289 Sif-Katan 7 that a mezuzah “lifi sha’ah” doesn’t need to be put up with nails? What does it mean “lifi sha’ah” how long is this?

Answer:

This apparently refers to a case where the mezuzah is only there temporarily, for example until another mezuzah is found. This doesn’t depend on a number of days, though it can be suggested that beyond thirty days, which is the number of days for a permanence of dwelling (relevant for obligating a mezuzah outside Israel), cannot be considered temporary.

Best wishes.
