I told someone to purchase an online course with the understanding that ill be able to help them along with it. After it was bought I realized that they changed the content and therefore would not be able to help him with it. It has no use. If I wouldn’t have recommended it they would have never bought it.
Do I have to pay them for the money they lost by purchasing the course?
You are not responsible to reimburse the money spent on the course. Your advice was in good faith with intent to help, the unfortunate outcome does not make you responsible to pay.
