Getting Remarried

I was divorced 25 years ago. I never remarried but my husband did. He married a shiksa in a church ceramony. We never had a Jewish divorce. Do I still need to get one if I were to remarry and if so, how do I do this and is it expensive?

Answer:

Yes, you still need to receive a Jewish divorce if you wish to remarry.

This is not expensive at all, but it does depend on the cooperation of your former husband. He needs to give you a divorce document (a get), which is arranged in a court of Jewish law.

Good luck!!
