Candies Fell in Netilas Yadayim Water

Candies that are wrapped in a paper wrapping fell into negel vaser water (after it was used.) The candies were taken out right away. May they still be eaten? May they be given to a child?

Answer:

The candies should be dried, after which they can be eaten.

Although the water is tameh, there is no need to fear that it has be absorbed by the candies, and once dried they can therefore be eaten.

Some recommend “washing” the candies three times, a chumra that can be somewhat based on the ruling of the Gra who requires a fourth netilah to remove the tamei water from one’s hand. This is not required according to the formal halachah.
