Preparing for Shavuos Night

Those who stay up Shavuos night usually sleep the afternoon before.
This year the afternoon before is Shabbos Kodesh. It is asur to sleep on Shabbos for after Shabbos.
What is the eitzah?

Answer:

Because it is common practice to go to sleep on Shabbos afternoon, and that one therefore cannot tell that going to sleep is a “preparation” for Shavuos night, there is no problem in going to sleep as preparation for Shavuos.

However, one should not say, “I’m going to sleep so that I’ll be strong for Shavuos night,” but only go to sleep as usual. It is also permitted to sleep for longer than usual (this also happens sometimes), provided one does not declare that this is in preparation for the night ahead.

Best wishes.
