Cold Shower on Shabbos (and other questions)

Shalom!
1) If it’s permitted to fold (blanket, clothes, placemat made from bamboo, etc) on shabbat?
2) If I have different stuff on my table (salt, pepper, cocoa pack, candy pack, cup with forks etc), can I move them on shabbat or it has a mukzeh – status?
3) It’s permitted to grow in one (shared) container tomatoes & dates palm? (out of Israel)- it’s not kilayim?
4) Apartment building has an adjacent parking lot with garbage containers. It’s permitted on shabbes to discard garbage out of apt to garbage containers out of building?
5) My husband cannot live without water, if it’s permitted for him to use cold shower on shabbat?
Thanks!

Answer:

1) It is permitted to fold the items you mention, provided one does not fold along previously extant strong creases. One may not fold garments etc. along previous (strong) creases.

2) The items you mention all have uses even on Shabbos, and therefore they are not muktzeh, and they are permitted to move on Shabbos.

3) There is no problem of kilayim in this case.

4) It is not permitted to take out the garbage, unless there is an eruv arrangement. One should be careful to take out the garbage before Shabbos.

5) If he “can’t live without it” it is permitted to take a shower, but one must be careful not to wring out water from hair and hairy areas, and in particular when drying oneself (see Magen Avraham 326:8). In addition, solid soap should not be used, but many are lenient concerning the use of liquid soap (though see Iggros Moshe, Orach Chaim Vol. 1, no. 113).

Best wishes.
