Staying in an apartment for Shabbos that may have been used by non frum Jews

Question:

If we rent an apartment for Shabbos that may have been used previously by non Jews or non frum Jews, what do we need to be careful about? We will bring along our own utensils… hotplate and disposable pots, dishes. Do we need to cover the counters, tables, before placing hot food down?

Answer:

Yes you should definitely cover any area that you will put food down that might be trief, such as the table. This is especially true regarding the counters, since they had the trief food or pots put down directly on them with a kli rishon, and you might put your pot etc. down on it. Therefore they should both be covered.
