There are certain recipes which call for using orange peel. Likewise is fermentation of certain products that we make at home teh recipes may call for this as well. My question is if we can use the peel if we scrub it and visually inspect to make sure there are no scale insects or other insects on the peel.
If the peel may not be eaten, can we use it in a recipe of fermentation for flavoring if the actual peel itself will not be eaten in any case
As long as you took care of the bug issue (and they are not Isreali oranges with an issue of terumos uma’asros) it should be fine.
