Davening with Netz

Question:

Is there a hidur to start Shmone Esraei at the exact second of netz, or is there a problem of ose tefiloso keva?

Answer:

The hiddur is in fact to start exactly at netz. The idea of ose tefiloso keva, means that a person’s attitude towards davening should not be that he is davening because he has to, and because this is the rule, that we must daven. This causes that the person’s davening is rushed, and with a goal of “getting it over with”  Rather a person’s davening should be with an attitude that I have the opportunity to talk to and request my needs from the Almighty. It should also be said in a slow, deliberate manner. The way a poor person would talk to a rich person that he is asking for help.

  1. Sorry to bother you, but recently i posted the following question:Is there a hidur to start Shmone Esraei at the exact second of netz, or is there a problem of ose tefiloso keva?
    The answer i received was:

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! However from your answer it seems that there is doubt that there’s no problem, but the chazon ish seems to hold different ע’ בספר כאיל תערוג [ממרן הגראי”ל] עמוד קלח וכ”כ בארחות רבנו אות קסג מובא במשנ”ב מהדורת דרשו ח”א מילואים עמוד 15 if so why didn’t you mention the chazon ish?

    1. The reason I didn’t mention the Chazon Ish is because I didn’t know it. What I do know is that the simple meaning of the posuk ייראוך עם שמשת, means together with the sun’s coming out. This is also the simple understanding of the Shulchan Aruch 58-1 that it is to be exactly at the time of sunrise, and the minhag haolam, that when they daven vasikin they try to get it pretty much exact. Secondly, it seems to be a big chiddush that this is the meaning of oso tefilaso keva, see the gemora there. See the gemora Brachos 29b, O:CH 98-3.
However I have question for you. If you did know this Chazon Ish before asking the question why did you write the question, in such an innocent way, without mentioning the main point of your question? This doesn’t seem to be correct or fair. If you want to ask about the Chazon Ish be straight forward about it.
