Sproated Grains in Rolls

Question:

Hi……I purchased “Sprouted Burger Buns” from Angelic Bake House (OK hechsher and Pas Yisroel.) The ingredients in order are “Sprouted Whole Grain Wheat Berries, Water, Quinoa, Millet, Amaranth, Oat Groats, Barley, Rye, Berries, Whole Wheat Flower, Water, Sunflour Oil etc. I was unable to find the amount of wheat flour in the roll…..In light of this, I’m wondering what blessing to say? I realize I could eat this with a bread meal and obviate
the problem, but perhaps I could have a kazayis of mezonos and then eat a roll. Or, could I just say Hamotzi on the role itself? Thanks for your help, and this wonderful service you provide!

Answer:

Hello,

From what you are writing it seems to be hamotzei as there is certainly a grain taste, and the rules of pas haba’ah b’kisnin don’t seem to be applicable here.

Best wishes
