Question:

With regard to the הלכות of הנחת מקצת חברים;
1) Would this concept apply if the person waiting there is a גוי?
2) Would this concept apply if the person waiting there is a מומר?
3)Would this concept apply if the person waiting there is a תינוק שנשבה?

Answer:

This is an interesting question, and I haven’t found anyone that talks about it, however according to a number of poskim that I have consulted regarding this, they all felt that the main reason that הניח מקצת חבריםis because the person is going to come back to finish his meal since he left someone there. This would apply, even though the  גוי is not obligated in zimun.
