Regarding the question whether Mishyat vs, free loan gemach for the departed. It’s relevent concerning if someone only has a certain amt of money that can either set up the gemach or have someone learn mishnayot instead. What would be ‘better’ for the departed?

This is very hard to say.
However, if the decision is between one and the other, there is perhaps room to prefer the loan society, because this will be benefiting others in the long term.
Perhaps you can study the Mishnayot on your own – there are excellent editions in English – and then manage to have both the study and the benefit of the free loan society.
