Question:
Is it permitted on Shabbos for a sick person to vomit into a bowl (for example, the negel vasser basin)? Why would this not be considered “nullifying a vessel from its preparedness,” as the vomit is muktzah and the bowl becomes muktzah?
Answer:
It is permitted and it isn’t a problem of nullifying a vessel from its preparedness because this halacha does not apply if what we are doing is in order to prevent a disgusting situation, which is what would happen if he wouldn’t do it into the bowl.
