Are you allowed to give a gift to someone that is in aveilus for their father? And if not, is a photo book considered a gift that one is not allowed to give?

Hamakom yinachem eschem b'toch aveilei Tzion v'Yerushalayim.
In most instances we do not give gifts to a person who is in the year of aveilus for a parent, however according to some poskim, a gift may be given for the family.
