Am I required to wear a mask? I am young and healthy. Additionally, I see many respected people (like rabbonim) not wearing a mask in shul.
Answer:
I can’t answer for any specific situation, which would have to be asked to the local poskim. In general though the idea of wearing a mask is not only for yourself, but because we have an obligation not to hurt others, as a young, healthy person can carry it to someone who isn’t healthy and put his life in danger. According to most poskim, and the local heath officials, who understand the local health conditions, we are required to wear a mask.
