Shalom, if a person makes a genetic modification by crossing (introducing DNA) from a kosher fish to another kosher fish, would the result be a kosher fish, thus being able to be consumed as kosher?
have a source for this case?
Answer:
The rule with kosher fish is that if it has scales we know that it is kosher,( although fish need two symbols, scales and fins, however whatever fish has scales has fins). Therefore check the fish, if it has scales you know it is kosher. additionally if both types of “parents are kosher, the end result will be kosher.
