Can I say kaddish if I have a urine bag connected?

Question:

Can I say kaddish if I have a urine bag connected?

Answer:

Hi,

Chelkas Yackov Y:D 46, Minchas Yitzchok 5-32. 8-69, Oz Nidberu 7-71 Igros Moshe  Y:D 3-23, Nisovos Hahalacha 46 pg. 594 in the name of R’ S. Z. Auerbach zt”l, that if it used only once then it doesn’t need tevila. Also see Hiechal Horaah 1- 119 that it may even be used a few times.

It is permitted for a person to put on tefillin, learn, daven, say brachos, kaddish, or even to daven for the amud, while a catheter bag is attached. The bag however should preferably be covered with another article of clothing of a sheet. The reason for this is because the prohibition not to daven, learn etc., in the presence of urine is m’drabonon and in such an instance it is permitted for kavod habriyos, or when there is pain and anguish involved.

You should have a refuah shleima quickly

Best wishes
