Advice for Someone after Abortion

I have a friend who revealed to me that when he and his wife were younger (both Jewish) provoked an abortion to their two months fetus. They asked me if there is teshuva and forgiveness for that sin or they have to come back in other gilgul to metaken their sin? I said to them that there is teshuva for everything and would be a good idea to support Efrat. Was my answer and etzah correct ones?

Answer:

Your answer and advice appears excellent.

The abortion is of course unfortunate, but there is no sin that is beyond the power of repentance, and it sounds like they truly regret the action.

They should certainly not be worried about gilgulim, about which we know nothing.

A contribution to Efrat sounds like a noble idea, though I am not closely familiar with the organization.

Best wishes.
