Am I allowed to wear a silk tie on Rosh Hashana
Answer:
Even though Rosh Hashana is a day of judgment, we wash ourselves and change into Yom Tov clothing. We do this to show our bitachon in Hashem, that he will judge us favorably if we do teshuva and daven. However, we don’t wear our nicest, fanciest clothing either, because it is a Day of Judgment. Nowadays a silk tie is considered quite standard, and I don’t see an issue with it.
